New Year, New Horizons
The Rottnest Foundation is excited to start 2024 with new offices and two new faces.
The Rottnest Island Authority (RIA) has generously provided a bright and spacious office for our Not-for-Profit charity organisation. Centrally located in Fremantle, the office will become a base of operations for the Foundation and will help to foster a collaborative relationship between the two bodies.
"A permanent address, with meeting facilities, located in Fremantle, provides our proactive foundation an excellent base to drive our fundraising goals and focus on attracting corporate and philanthropic investment in our 5 key focused projects, all aimed at conserving and enhancing the unique environmental, cultural and heritage assets of Wadjemup / Rottnest Island, for future generations," said Foundation Chair Steve Carre.
We are delighted to announce John Arthur as the newest member of the Rottnest Foundation Board.
John brings to the Board a wealth of experience in media, marketing, and public relations. He has worked across print media as a journalist, sub editor and is founder of the weekly community newspaper Perth Voice. He has held an impressive range of positions within the State and Federal Governments, including Director of the Government Media Office (12 years) and Senior Media Adviser to the Minister for Resources.
For the past 5 years, John has dedicated his time to volunteering; providing employment support services and sharing his expertise of two advisory groups in his local community of Belmont. He is also a busy JP and a committee member of the Royal Association of Justices Western Australia and Vice Chair of the Bali Memorial Association.
In addition, the Rottnest Foundation is pleased to welcome Emma Wilson in the newly created role of Administration and Membership Officer. Emma has a strong background in administrative support as well as experience in marketing and content creation and will provide support to Sally Hollis in the operation of the Foundation.
