Alinta Energy Corporate Volunteering

On August 14 and 15, as part of the continuing Alinta Energy and Rottnest Foundation partnership, we hosted more than 40 dedicated volunteers, over two days, planting seedlings near Ricey Beach.

The volunteers worked hard and were well rewarded for their efforts, as they managed to plant more than 700 young seedlings, propagated and provided by the Rottnest Island nursery.  The volunteers didn’t just get their hands dirty, they also did some heavy lifting, installing tree guards around the vulnerable seedlings to protect them from the munching of hungry little quokkas.

The Alinta Energy team rose to the volunteering challenge brilliantly, making a huge contribution to our Woodlands Restoration Project and ensuring native species in the area will now flourish.
