Board tours Priority Project sites on Wadjemup

On 11 March, the Rottnest Foundation Board travelled to Wadjemup Rottnest Island to hold our first Board Meeting for 2025.

We were joined by Rottnest Foundation Ambassadors John Langoulant, Jeff King, Andy Fethers and Sue Campbell, as well as key staff from the Rottnest Island Authority, including Executive Director Jason Banks, and Director EHP, Arvid Hogstrom, as well as RIA Board Member Louise Watson, Lotterywest Director Angela Vurens van Es and Rottnest Foundation Member/Donor, Graeme Monkhouse.

The highlight of the day was a two-hour bus tour where RIA staff detailed progress and the latest developments on the Foundation's 5 Priority Projects.

After lunch, we gathered at the Picture Hall to watch a trailer from Leighton De Barros on his latest production 'Life on Wadjemup' and a presentation from Brooke Gregory showcasing the 'Share our Passion' video campaign, developed by the RIA, for the Rottnest Foundation to use as a brand and projects marketing tool.

We capped off the day with a personalised tour of The Lodge Wadjemup by Graeme Dick and ended with a refreshing drink at Sunsets before heading back to the mainland thanks to Rottnest Express.

Not only did this busy day provide the Board, our Ambassadors, and stakeholders with a firsthand look at the priority project sites, but it has also stimulated the team for the exciting work we have ahead.
